Holodeck Rec Room Vive Vs Oculus | Gooboberti VR

In this edition  - of Gooboberti extravaganza -

I, Gooboberti, show you, the audience -

The glory of RoomScale Virtual Reality through the HTC Vive.

'

It's been a while, ya see. A while since I hooked up my HTC Vive. I've been using the Oculus Rift pretty constantly recently, but have since moved the oculus system to my laptop. I have re-setup the HTC Vive, with my room dedicated to VR.

A very large roomscale play area, dedicated for the HTC Vive.

'

I can gallop, hop, crawl, lay down, lean, sidestep, lunge, jump back, and walk around in physical reality --

all translated to the virtual world with near perfect tracking..

Gameplay with Oculus Rift is generally okay - with quick leans and so forth - with the controller allowing for rotation. The problem is I can't go too low or too high, and I can't turn around - on the Oculus Rift.

On the Vive, I have no issues as it takes only one sensor to track me at any given time - and the sensors are high off in the corners of the room, facing downward, capturing everything.

gaming is a measure of physical exertion and skill. The future of gaming is here - Virtual Reality and so fort. Amazing.
