Getting ready to continue our journey, I saw that we were
standing near the detective agency. We decide to enter and speak with Nick
Valentine to learn more about where my son Shaun might be.
Valentine asked me a series of questions about what I remembered from inside
the vault when my wife was murdered, and my son kidnapped. After describing the
primary kidnapper as having a scar and bald head, Valentine had a hunch we were
speaking about a high-level mercenary named Kellogg. Valentine speaks of seeing
Kellogg with a 10-year-old a little while ago. Kellogg owns a house in Diamond
City, so we planned to take a walk to his residence.
Piper, Nick Valentine and I walked to Kellogg’s house in Diamond City and
conversed about the motives of Kellogg. When we arrived at the residence, Detective
Valentine tried the lock while I stood guard. Failing, he asked me to try the
door. I picked the lock with success and we enter Kellogg’s home.
We searched the house for any hidden information and find a switch hidden
beneath the desk. Flipping the switch revealed a secret room hidden behind the
wall. In this room, among other things, we found a half-smoked cigar. Valentine
suggested we use Dogmeat, my dog, to assist in tracking Kellogg by his scent
from the cigar. Nick Valentine offered to be my companion and then returned to his
office in the city, waiting for my reply. We leave Kellogg’s home and see
Dogmeat waiting for me.
